BUMPY Ltd will attending the 9-Day Carole Nash Motorcycle Live Show formerly the NEC Motorcycle Show) in partnership with the ACU Trials and Enduro Dept. The ‘ACU Trials Zone’ will be located indoor in the T+MX/DBR Off-Road Zone providing free Trials Lessons in the ‘Try Our Sport’ Initiative.
Although predominantly an ‘on-road’ show, the show organisers have acknowledged the lure of off-road sport and have included Trials, Enduro and Moto-X on to their programme of events. This is a massive boost for off-road sport as more people attend the NEC Show in one day than attend the whole duration of the Dirt Bike Show.
The ACU will provide willing customers with the relevant information on how to start competing in Trials; giving them vital information about various trials clubs and centres which are local to each individual.
BUMPY will then intervene, providing them with some kit and bestow some Expert tuition in trials riding from their ACU Coach’s Dan Thorpe, Katy Sunter and Julian Ford. Further information on the ACU can be found on their website: www.acu.org.uk
Current British Novogar National Champion and former British Expert Champion Dan Thorpe will also be performing twice daily trials demonstrations. Dan is one of the most widely respected trials riders from the past 15 years, with over 100 National wins to his name.
Gas Gas UK and Colin Appleyard Motorcycles will be providing the latest ‘all singing, all dancing’ 2011 Gas Gas TXT Pro machinery for each individual to ride. BUMPY stress that this is a ‘Try our Sport’, and not a ‘how to ride motorbikes’; so prior motorbike experience (with clutch) is essential. To this end each rider must have be over 16 and have a valid DVLA Motorcycle Licence or a CBT certificate. Participation is subject to availability and can only be booked at the event.
