My water pump broke, I have got it out, but some bits of the brittle impeller are still missing. (Even after fishing out all the bits I can see)

What the best way to deal with this issue.. I was thinking of attacking a hosepipe to the engine (coolant system) and flushing thru to see if anybits come thru.

Best case they all come out.. or when i fit the metal one it smashes the brittle plastic to bits.

Worst case these bits of plastic block something..

Any other ideas?

Small parts of plastic impellor will not do any harm and if they were small enough to drop beyond recovery from the waterpump position then they will not cause a problem. Flushing is unlikely to shift them.
