I am fortunate enough to have a nice little collection of watches - Breitling Navitimer and Aerospace Ti, Omega Railmaster and Dynamic Chrono and a TAG Carrera – all of which get a fair bit of rotation and worn.

However, I do fancy something a bit older... a classic, and the birth year seems ideal (1977 in my case). This is far from an imminent purchase, I’m just looking for ideas really as I honestly don’t know what I’d want. To give people an idea, I do like the Heuer Carreras and Daytonas, but must admit the Speedy Pro leaves me cold. I do like the current Milgauss, but most Rolex do nowt for me either. Grail watches for me would be a Seamaster 300 or an original Railmaster.

I’m not a big horologist.. I’m not that bothered about movements, I wear watches because I like the aesthetics – although I’d rather have an auto than a quartz.

Suggestions on a postcard to the usual address...

TIA smile

As you like them, I'd get an SM300.

www.ebay.co.uk > Search for "1977" filter for watches, job done. smile
You'll find all sorts of stuff.
I keep an eye out for my year ('87! wink ) from time to time for 'the one'; I've found some interesting stuff (GMT Master, Submariner, various Seikos, a nice Seamaster) and some compete Japanese tat! hehe
Well worth a look.
