I have an old Stelrad/Baxi boiler, system one that is wall mounted, and does the heating and the water. It was looked at a few weeks ago and cleared as being ok, just had a new pump fitted.

I have no intrustctions for it!

Last night the wind blew the pilot out, and when this happens, it kicks in the safety feature and closes the gas valve.

Ok, but I can't for the life of me remember ho to relight the thing.

There is a grey knob that has a flame on it, and an arrow indicating clockwise, and it will only turn clockwise, although just a little bit.

If you turn it clockwise then press it in, it only goes so far in, if you dont turn it, then it goes a lot further in, I know I have to do something with this knob (steady) and allow the gas to start coming through, then push the ignistion button.

I am blowed if I can remember the exact sequence, and I have tried all sorts, the ignition is flicking, there just doesnt seem to be any gas getting to it, so obviously there is something wrong with my sequence.

So, does anyone know the set proceedure, what I do when and how long for please? And don't say get a man in, cos I am not paying through the nose for a guy to push a button.

Like I say, I know I have re lit it before, just can't remember what the hell I did, and I have no hot water or heating at the moment,

Thanks

I have no idea what model it is, and there is nothing anywhere on it to indicate which, but thanks for that, will grab a coffee and see if I can find mine in there.

Just tried to have a look, and you need to register

Had to relight our boiler at work this morning for the same reason. No idea what model but it has controls very similar to those you describe.

Procedure was:
Turn off HW & CH at timer
Turn off boiler thermostat
Turn the large button clockwise (only moves a very small amount) and release, which turns off the gas supply
Wait 3 minutes (no explanation as to why, guessing that it was to allow any gas to dissipate so as to avoid an explosion)
Press the large button and hold
Press the ignition button repeatedly until the pilot flame comes on
Continue holding the larger button for at least 20 seconds, then release. The pilot light should not go out. If it does, repeat the above but keep the large button depressed for longer before releasing.
Turn the boiler thermstat to the desired setting, turn on the CH & HW

No idea if this will work on yours. It worked on ours.
