What happens when your neightbours handbrake fails (Volvo 440) on a sloped shared drive frown

his car 'mounted' the front bumper and pushed it down the drive (over blocks encase of handbrake failure) with rear wheels locked, into my garage door!
He's not evolving insurance, and will pay for a new garage door (and the very minor damage to the car!) smile

Looks like garage door came off much much worse. But then again, it wasn't a solid one.

Any damage to the Volvo then?

Nice MX-5 btw smile

I'd have an engineer check the mx5 out, if I were you. The plastic bits of mx5s are renouned for being tough as old boots. I've known a few people that have had bumps in mx5s, which looked like no damage jobs, only to find some structural damage later.

Actually, that front cone looked pushed in, and the rear bumper look very pushed in too.

I hope you wouldn't really let him pay for a new garage door? An unfortunate incident, perhaps; but surely the door can be straightened out and neighbourly relations enhanced?

This.

I had a minor shunt in mine and they hide damage well.

Sorry, didn't realise the extent of the damage from the pic - looked like the door was just a wee bit dented! Good on him for insisting on putting it right.

Hope the car's alright too.

Stood up well to that! Guess it helped the door went in too rather than being a brick wall or something.
