HID lighting on a Defender?
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm wanting to upgrade my lights on the 300 Tdi Defender and am wondering if anyone else has used any of the HID offerings available on the interweb?
From a first look they look like an easy job to install. Also, seeing as I'm a HID noobie, is there anything I should look out for in terms of a quality product?
Cheers,
C.

HID's will be "light" years ahead of standard LR bukbs. I've fitted HIDS4U kits to a Disco 2 and a P38 and the difference is night and day. I bought some for my 50th but haven't got round to fitting them yet but it won't be difficult.
HIDS4U kits are about £150 and the H4 bulb does both dip and main beam. The kit I bough for the Defender was from ebay for around £80 and looks very similar to the HIDS4U sets.

Often thought about it but not having self levelling and wash facility technically make them illegal. But if you make it clear to the insurance company apparently you are ok !
Still get through MOT. I think the self levelling and wash are only for the type approval from a manufacturers point of view.Gassing Station | Land Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
