Just giving the motor a once over before our little spin out on Sunday. Bit mucky so needs a clean, oil level fine, then check tyre pressures. Shame on me as I've never checked them from new...<cough>

35psi all round!! eek

Cheers Mazda rolleyes

Down to 29 now, looking forward to some more compliance and grip on Sunday hehe

Tyre fitters always over inflate tyres. I always ask for 27psi and I never get it anywhere, it's always 30-35psi - once I had about 35 in 3 tyres and nearly 40 in one!!!
I always check and correct my tyre pressures using my own gauge before leaving and always tell them how wrong they got it but it never makes a difference anywhere.

Whats the official pressure recommendation for the Mk3? I guess with the lower profile tyres it will be higher than the pressures for the Mk1 & 2.

Is that for the 205/50R16 ?

I don't have the book, is there a sticker somewhere on the car with this info?

Not for the R16; it's the R17 on the Mk3+.

205/45R16 (at least on my Mk2.5) is 26psi. smile

It'll be 29, the same as the 17s. The tyre pressure doesn't usually change with wheel/tyre size.
On Mk1/2 it's 26 whether you have 14, 15, 16 or 17.

I usually run 28 psi all round but it feels like the tyres are going to fall off the rim at anything less than that when cornering hehe

+1 for running @ 28psi (mk1 with 15"s) Just feels more solid to me.

Depends on the tyres. By the book it should be 26psi but if the tyres have softer sidewalls then a bit extra might be needed. More than 27psi makes GY F1s a bit skittish imo.

Completely agree Lazza, I religiously kept the pressures at 26 for about 18 months. I changed over to toyo tr1 about 6 months ago & ,for me anyway, found they felt a lot better at 28.

It's amazing how sensitive the 5 is & difference tiny tweaks make.
