Hi everyone
Can anybody tell me the location or what wheel the speedo sensor is on as my speedo is playing up

if its a 5 speed box its on the top of the gearbox , 6 speed is located in drivers side front hub pointing at wheel . Tux

its probably not the sensor though, i had the same problem with the speedo giving false readings as many others have also reported the same, sometimes it would jump to 130mph while i was doing 40mph, the problem with this is that it can be putting false mileage on your clock, watch how the mileage spins when the speedo pointer starts jumping. Anyway when i fitted a new speedo the problem went away, so it wasnt a problem with the sensor on my car.

Ok will have a look its going in for service in two weeks might get them to look at it if i cant see nothing.
Any idea how much a new speedo is???

Normaly it's the sender wire at the wheel end , it cracks , very unusual to be the speedo !!

A new speedo is probably around £150, Tux is probably right though, i would check the sensor cable first.

sensor flashes as you rotate the wheel (as long as the battery is connected), if its not then sensor or wire is nackered.

Agreed - agreed smile

Factory part glued in - needs drilling out. Newer type screws in.
