Getting rid of the wet dog!

Hi All,

I'm still on the look out for a Cerb to buy and I've been to look at another one today. It's a great low milage car with well sorted mechanics. Trouble is, that at some point it's been living uncovered outdoors, and although it has been dry for some time it's drivers foot well has signs of water damage and the accompanying musty whiff.

My question is, how easy and and costly is it to replace the carpets, and will it cure the doggyness?

Musty whiff - hmmm it could well be more than just carpets then. A long standing dampness may start to imapct wiring etc..

It's been dry (garaged) for about 3 years and all the wiring glitches have since been sorted. The smell isn't overwhelming, but I noticed it as soon as the door was open. Asthetically it detracts a bit too.

I looked at a 4.5 last month which smelt just the same,the door panels were wet but carpets not to bad.The boot just smelt musty,trouble was the weather was good and had been for a while,and on the phone said it was always garaged.Oh well keep looking.Did you drive it bud and what did you think.I was'nt blown away by it to be honest

Most people aren't blown away by the Cerb when they first drive it. You have to drive it. It's not the Yank V8 type 'Put your foot down and off you go car'. You need to press your foot to the floor, that accelerator goes down a long, long way - try it next time.

Yeah did that bud,not worried about the power that much its just i came from a very high powerd turbo car that ripped your face off.Not moaning about cerb cos its a car ive loved since their release,and what can you buy that looks that sexy and has that power out of the box.Will get one soon and love it,and to be honest i took the pleasure from my last car cos it was to itense for the road.Thanx for comment taken on board.

Well I still say you didn't drive it properly , assuming it was a healthy Cerbera of course. There aren't that many cars that will out drag a Cerbera, even today. A Cerb doesn't 'feel' quick, it just is.
