Will This Do It???
Discussion
I have been wondering why an Ultima has not been shown on Top Gear in the UK and decided to ask why.
I sent this email today and will await a reply.
it is as follows -
Curious to know why it has not been on your show?
It has been on your track and seemed to do quite well.
I would have thought that this show, being feverently British, would be only more than happy to give a fellow Pom a hand up.
Strange really considering Mr Clarkson's ever present views on the future of the British car manufacturing industry.
Afraid is the word I hear bantered about – “Not him” I tell them…………….but it still makes me wonder.
Maybe Mr James May’s ever cautious self is rubbing off on him causing him to grow old before his time.
Oh well.
We will have to leave it to the gutsy Hamster to do all the really tough stuff as he is quite a bit younger.
Well, I will leave you to select your lawn chair in peace Jeremy as you have quite obviously handed the reigns over to the younger more capable driver with a little more back bone.

No it won't and I doubt you will even get a reply.Consider the costs involved in getting two Zondas to a test day along with a team of mechanics, PR people, PR merchandise etc.
Consider the build cost of the Ultima and that it drove itself to the tack and home again with a couple of people in tow.
When the Zonda gets beaten by an Ultima you can put on the road for half the cost of the Zondas day trip it will be no supprise that zonda will never come back again.
Nor will any other big names.
End of show.
Steve
PS The big names bring two identical cars in case one breaks down so the viewers are unaware.

Wasnt it tested by Tiff? A blue one i seem to remember, if the youtube video is to go by though i think it was around the year 1999 i think the car had a 'T' Plate.
Might be way off.
You're correct. It was Tiff - moaned a bit about understeer (it was wet though), but quite complimentary overall.Might be way off.
