low mileage M5 service needs?
Discussion
Additional information would be helpful. A running in service at around 1000 miles where they change fluids etc. Beyond that it depends upon how the car has been driven, but most owners would put their cars in for a Service 1 before the 10,000 mile period or within 12 months.
If the car has been properly stored with little driving and I had just purchased it privately then I would book the car into a specialist and ask them to plug in a diagnostic computer to see what pops up and then have a Service 2.

Thanks
I'm buying from a main dealer and they've done an inspection. Just wondering what the previous owner should have done for servicing considering a mileage of only 16K in three years
16k in three years is hardly 'garage queen' status. Heck, if I used my car solely for the work commute, I'd rack up a measly 10800 miles in three years, using the car 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year.I'm buying from a main dealer and they've done an inspection. Ergo, make sure it's been serviced according to the schedule (which it will if it's an AUC car) and forget about it.
You must have arse suspension that's all I can say, I lasted 6 months odd with my Z4M. I think it gave me Emma Freuds!!
Exciting car for the weekends though, which to be fair is what BMW intended it to be.
I'm approaching middle age with alacrity and am probably built more for comfort than speed hence the M6 is a much more suitable weapon.
For me the only E46 M3 I sat in was like sitting in a Whales' Mooey. Oops posted on wrong topic, darn blackberry!

I think you're better off asking valet parking that question!
Honestly I have never had as capable a car. Have had zero problems, not counting the soft close door sensor.
Head is saying keep it and get a 1 series diseasel, heart is saying another year then a Scaglietti.
SWMB(D)O is rather accident prone recently to the tune of 7K in the last three months. Plus my son has just turned 17......
Wonder what I'd get offered on her for a trade in?
