why do they do it?
they look terrible
I can think of polo, astra, and focus that all look terrible
any others?
The Jetta (although the new one is apparently "more than a golf with a boot") although the award for truly hideous awkwardness has to go to the Suzuki Liana, in hatchback form it's not that great, but in saloon form it's even worse.they look terrible

Although sometimes they do work the evolution of the Saab 9-3 into a saloon is one of the better ones (although I still prefer the hatch and yes it can be argued it's not really a hatch with a boot grafted onto it) and I always thought the Sierra Sapphire had a more grown up feeling to it than the hatch and suited having the saloon body shape.

It's basically just a Kia Pride with a boot grafted on, but I don't think Mazda ever offered it in hatch form.....not sure if thats a good thing or not though.Gassing Station | General Gassing [Archive] | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
