We had a great deal of support last year from the members of Pistonheads and I thought I'd post up the details for this years event. I hope that some of you can make the run and help the children of the Shooting Stars Hospice in Hampton.

Details:
2nd year! We'll be meeting at Ace Cafe, london for a morning breakfast before heading over to the Shooting Star Hospice in hampton to donate toys to the children.

The toys must be new and be sensory - soft touch or with lights. Also they do have teenagers and suitable DVD's and console games are welcomed.

learning and educational play items
- arts & crafts materials
- soft toys
- Cause and effect toys
- toys that light up/make noises when buttons pressed
- Small toys for our sensory room and to give as presents to children who have complex needs (e.g tubes that light up, different textured balls, sensory books etc)
- Pool toys for hospice pool
- Small bubble machine (which fit on a table top)
- Books of stickers
- New CD's and DVD's for children and teenagers
- New games for the wii, PS3 or X-Box for our children or teenagers

Meet at Ace Cafe from 9am

leave Ace Cafe 11am

This will also be running in South Africa in association with the Seat Sport Club & Fueltopia SA.

Sounds like a very worth while cause, post on the TVR events section as I'm sure you'll get a good response as we generally won't need asking twice for a reason to get the cars out.

I'll be there and try and get some support from work colleagues too!

Thanks Sidned, be great to get all the support we can. I've also added the event of Facebook for those who have profiles etc.

Just for an indication of numbers and car park space please can we get those who'd like to attend on a list?

if it looks like there are going to be 30+ cars we may need to re think this as when we went last year, there was minimal parking at the hospice, i think we managed to get 5 or 6 of the cars in and the road outside is not conducive to parking.

if that's the care then i'll happily donate some toys but may not take part in the run as that many will simply cause chaos

Cheers guys,
I think if the numbers are good then we can arrange staggered starts. I know that not all taking part wish to park up at the other end but would be happy dropping off toys and heading on.
The car park can fit approx 10 cars but there is a public car park next to the centre

Please can we keep the list updated and I'll then have a clear idea on numbers and therefore be able to put a clear plan of action into place.

Harsh, I can make sure that you have a space. Do you have a contact no? be good to talk to you at some point

Cheers for the support guys.

James, YHM

as an aside, i wasn't angling for a space, i'm more than happy to donate, it's an exceptionally worthwhile cause, just thinking that if there's a large group coming along from further away they deserve to be given priority.

How many childrens hospices are there? With the combined good will of PH and assorted clubs we could probably cover a few of them...

Hi Guys,
Just an update. We have a second hospice involved, they are due to join Shooting Stars in the new year in a merger.
After the call-in/toy drop off at Hampton, we'll be going to Christophers - www.chasecare.org.uk
