Anyone else going on this? Been looking forward to this for ages as the last track day of the year, and the most prestigeous circuit we've been on so far (previous best was cadwell)

Having looked at the track it looks perfect for a fairly powerful 328i, lots of nice 3rd gear sweepers and fast straights. I just have to be braver in the braking zones - normally start feathering the brakes long before i need to - im guessing the chicane will be braking from around 105 to 40?

Its with Javelin trackdays - very nearly full, and looks like a good mix of cars. Look out for us! (no really - you might want to give us a wide berth out of tighter corners - the tail is a bit lively!)

Cheers,
Brillo

I`m booked on too, looking forward to it.

Not done a day with Javeline before and looks like there could be 80 cars booked in wobble How are the Javeline trackdays? as i`m also thinking of booking the cadwell day in January

I like em! the last one i went on was at cadwell a month ago and was pretty crowded with 60 cars, but the track time was very well managed and there were very rarely queues to get on the circuit (might have been because it was a bit wet tho)

the organiser Colin is a great chap - priority for the day is utmost safety, well marshalled and dont tolerate bad driving. standard of driving very good as well - overtaking etiquette is very good.

I really hope Donington is dry! although doesnt look as bad to drive in the wet as cadwell was!

It's worse, very slippy so treat with caution if it is wet teacher

If it's a sessioned day, it used to be 3 sessions with 30 cars in each (ie 90 cars) .
If it's open pit lane, then 60 used to be the polite maximum number.

I think they've improved the drainage in a couple of places now so that should be fine I think.

You were doing just fine in the MX5 Steve but the wet grip (or lack of) does seem to catch a lot of people out at Donny eek

Just watch the pit exit - it blends in straight onto the racing line on the way onto redgates - ran pit exit at britcar night race in october - and boy there were one or two near misses with cars coming onto the pit straight at speed and guys coming out of the pits being too cautious.. scary at times...

Have fun out there though - it's cracking circuit...

Simes.

I'll be there with a few other guys in a mixture of two e30 production racers, a bog standard e36 318s, an e46 m3CS and an Elise. Some of our lot are pretty experienced, a couple will be total novices, so we'll be a real mixed bag! Looking forward to it.
