I've been using my iTrip on non-British roads () for about a month now and thought i'd post my thoughts and see how they compare to other users.

Pros:

- Great having that much music in the car. Feel like some rock... easy... feel like some dance... few clicks and i'm done.

- Easy to tune into the stations, was a bit annoying as my cd-player auto-tunes into the stations when you change the frequency. Luckily had some pre-sets that didn't clash with local radio. Also realised if i press the up or down key twice it stops the search

- Doesn't use up any real power from the iPod

- Can keep in glove compartment out of the way and still works great

Cons:

- I guess its the iPod, but i still don't get more than about 5hrs battery life Need to buy a car power adapter soon

- On longer journeys its less useful as when you enter another area with a radio station on the frequency you're using you get distortion and can hear both signals On known commutes it just takes a day or two to find out which stations you can use.

- I know Joust has problems in his X5 as the radio is so damn good... anything non-executive is fine though

So overall for the £20 it cost me its a fantastic piece of kit and i thoroughly recommend them.

20 quid?! Where from?

We're off to France in June, and will need one for the long journey - wouldn't dare use it on UK roads as I'm sure a Gatso will catch me

They're $35 in the states... handy when my brother lives in Atlanta and he popped home for Easter

I've just bought an Ipod and have been using a casette adapter rather than an Itrip. Just wondering if anyone has used both an can give a comparison of the quality between the two.

Casette adapter £5 - sound quality @ 320Kbps seems fine.

So far I've got 8gb on the Ipod.....

I think Sony are bringing out CD changer controls for the iPod so that you can control it like a CD changer

So whats the range on these things anyway, does the unit have to sit right by the radio or what?
