Yes - obviously as long it's a braked trailer and you have the right categories on your licence. My 200TDi 90 quite happily towed a Jaguar XJS on a 4-wheel trailer - the whole lot must have been around 3 tonnes - although you will know it on hills

iirc anything coil sprung = 3500kg braked officially, actual figure unknown but in excess of 40 tonnes ...

3500kgs is also the stated towing capacity from the manufacturer.
