vx omega auto jerky gear changes
Discussion
Right, chaps...
My 'cheap runabout' is a Vx Omega 2.5 V6 CD auto (don't ask) only done 71000 miles with fsh. Nice motor.
However, on some occasions when leisurely driving about town , etc. on pulling away it seems to linger in lower gear for quite a while-much longer than normal then bump/jerk into next gear. Sometimes, but not always, the 'check auto box' warning comes on and it seems to go into a 'safe mode' stuck in high gear. Turning ignition off and re starting seems to reset it and its ok again.
I would guess it would be the oil level or something but I read somewhere they are filled for life and anyway cant find where one would top oil up.
Any of you boffins out there any ideas?
Cheers, Tim
