Ultima in Germany
Discussion
Many thanks for your welcome.
The car I bought has already been registered in the UK.
Everything is complete exept for the engine.
I am optimistic to get it on the road next spring :-). (Hopefully)
So how many (by estimation) are already out on german roads?
And how many are in progress to follow?

Hi Andreas,
In Switzerland you have Daniel (ULTIMACH) and myself,
althought my german is quite pathetic...
And me! I'm waiting for Daniel to build the first Ultima in Switzerland- kind of given up hope for the time being, thanks to Swiss bureaucracy, plus a lack of a place to build an Ultima. In Switzerland you have Daniel (ULTIMACH) and myself,
althought my german is quite pathetic...
One day, fingers crossed!
Hallo,
I had already thought that there is only a very small community in DACH.
It is particularly encouraging that most of the few are gathered here. :-)
By reading through the instructions I could not get the idea that a completion actually take that long.
But I believe they have ommited the time-consuming parts.
I hope those who are still at the completion will not lose their mood...
I'm also from near Frankfurt (70km northern):-).

Hallo Andreas,
Daniel
Yes, Frankfurt isn't far. If you like, you can pop over for a look. I'm usually in the workshop at weekends.
Correct, it doesn't take that long to build an Ultima, but it depends on what one changes. I've changed quite a few things, don't have much time, and have an unsympathetic girlfriend.
That's life.
PM for my phone number if you want to come over.
Regards
Daniel

Hi Daniel, All I can recommend is you find and choose (if possible) a car oriented thinking girlfriend. That always works out great when wanting to do that kind of project. I have heard too many stories of Ultima chaps on here have to sell their Ultima's as split ups and divorce happen due to women no longer in the lime light of things a only third or fourth down the line of priorities, after the car, the forum talk, the web searches to find solutions, etc. Just my thought and a certain experience also. That's life.

Regards
Daniel

Don't worry, all my cars belong to my company, so I won't lose them.
My feelings do go out to the poor chaps who have lost the things most dear to them (Ultimas, children, etc.)due to failed relationships.
Maybe we can start a "company" for all the people in similar situations (to register cars, not children, of course)?

Yes, like one of those in the D&W catalog. :-)
If I had a woman like one of those (from the D&W catalogue), I'd never finish the Ultima.

Did anybody ever calculate what the Ultima cost 1/2 an hour?
