Im pretty sure there isnt. You're allowed to drive an unMOT'd car to a prebooked MOT test, but if you were to buy the car in John O Groats and drive it to a prebooked test in Lands End, you'll be guilty of whats known as 'taking the piss', unless of course you can prove that the only place you could get that particular type of car MOT'd was the place in Lands End.

Your best bet is to hire a truck and drag it home.........or insure it, catch the train up, immobilise the car and then ring your breakdown service and say that you've broken down!

You can drive it to a place where work is to be carried out to enable it to pass its MOT, but wether the Landsend scenario is valid is anotherthing entirely.

When I was working for a salvage company the wheeze was for punters to buy the car at auction then push it/ drag it down the road to the supermarket then give the AA a call.

These cars still had the lot numbers on them!

In the end the AA used to have a couple of low loaders there ready.
