I'm looking to sell my 944 S2 Cabrio but don't know how much a private sale would make. Any advise on price and selling points would be appreciated.
Cheers in advance.

Car in question...
Porsche 944 S2 Cabrio 82000 miles on clock reg. 91 very good nick. No service history until I bought it. Checked by Porsche and problems rectified as pointed out. All chains replaced, All brakes (pads, cylinders etc.) replaced, new passenger cv joint + arm. Full leather seats(front and back). New tyres alround. MOT due at end of month so will put it through and sell with 12 months MOT. Tax runs out at end of May.
Cheers in advance.

Check autotrader.co.uk for a good price guide; there will be similar examples for sale.
No history is always going to hurt.
My guess is between 6-8k, depending on the condition in the flesh and whether a sale to a trader or privately.
Remember that a car is only worth what someone will pay for it. Only one or two of us on these forums are professional traders - the rest (like me) are just enthusiasts who have a good guess and generally know jacksh1t. Iguana will probably say it is worth 3k and a packet of hobnobs, whilst some will massage your ego and say over 10k. Autotrader will give a better guide, and your car will really need to be viewed in the flesh for ultimate accuracy.
Hope this helps

Come on Dom! Two packets at least!
Realistically AT only tells you what price the sellers advertise at, not what they actually get!

Cheeky blighters, you should know I prefer jaffa cakes to hobnobs
As Dom says the lack of history is really gunna hammer your price, is it just the service book you don't have or anything at all? like no past service reciepts or old MOTs etc etc. In fact history like all old MOTs is worth a lot more as a miles prover than a stamped book which is easily faked.
If you have nothing, well then the miles on the clock can pretty much be ignored & as S2's soak up the miles so well the car may well have done double the indicated miles.
As a general rule 944s cabs are worth a few £k more than the equivalent S2 coupe, and there are a lot of cabs on the market at the mo, priced (mainly at dealers) in the £7k- £12k area.
S2 coupes start at sub £4k & really nice ones starting around the £5k area, condition is all important with older cars & values, but even assuming a minter I feel that means for a Cabrio private sale with no history I think you would be doing well to see any more than a nice S2 coupe, maybe you could get lucky & see £6k.
I would image trade bids (if they would even be interested) would start at the £4k level, posibly even lower.

I should think you would !! I can see how you people make your money now - and here`s me thinking all Northern Folk rode round on bicycles !!
Joking aside if the car`s condition is good enough then it would almost make it`s money in the trade. You people don`t half make a job out of buying cars off each other !!
Keep smiling
