My little old runabout (1998 1.4l Corsa) is starting to have a little bit of a rough idling problem when the engine is warm, and it is in neutral. Its not too bad, just a bit lumpy.

I actually quite like this little car, it is nippy for a little auto, reliable, low mileage and no rust. I want to keep the engine in good nick as well.

The problem is, is that two garages I have been to have no idea how to fix it! I just get told "we have scanned it, no error codes so we don't know how to fix it" This is from two local reputable independent garages.

I have been on all the forums, and ruled out loads of things, so I need someone who is not just a plug and play mechanic to have a look really.

Can anyone recommend someone in the Sandhurst / Wokingham / Bracknell area?

Its the EGR valve.

Dont bother cleaning it or blanking it off as the corsa chav websites would have you do. Just get a cheap after market one (£70 ish) and fit it yourself.

Its a difficult thing to reach though as its right down the back of the engine. Needs to be fitted from above.

Already tried that.
