Halfords C2W scheme, 1K to spend, on what Roadie

Right then, I need some help.
My company decided to change our provider to Halfords which seems a bit rubbish as it ends at the start of the year, ie before the new range of Boardmans come out.
Last years bike is now 1200 so I can't even get that.
I have a cyclocross bike for wet weather and winter so need a new full road bike.
What are my options? Any recommendations?
From what I have seen on the website, poor springs to mind.
But, on talking to a fella in store he suggested they can get almost anything!?! Anyone have any info. He was talking about Dolan and Focus!?!

Halfords will indeed get any brand or model in for you, however the wait can apparently be lengthy and you still have to deal with the Halfords staff and technicians, which again can vary considerably. I've considered the C2W scheme myself for some time, but just can't deal with my local Halfords 'techs' so will be buying a bike from a trusted LBS with a decent discount on the retail instead.
Thanks for the replies, the issue is the Carbon Boardman, that everyone rates is now over the 1K budget.
I understand the risks of buying from Halfords and their staff, but I do like the savings available. I am going to have a look in my LBS at the weekend to see what they can offer.
I'm a bit pissed off as we were told it was going to be Evans which let you add a bit to the pot.

It appears you can get the 2010 carbon according to an email from Halfords.
I'll still be checking what my lbs can offer.

Transfer of ownership to the employee at the HRMC rates after the 12mth salary sacrifice period 18% or 25%
Extended hire period to 4 years (no more salary sacrifices but a small continuation repayable deposit) and then transfer of ownership to the employee at the HRMC rates after the 4 years at 3% or 7%
Or return the bike after 12mths or 4 years at no extra cost.
Not sure on Halfrauds though.
I guess it's still worth it though. Why can’t the Government jut leave C2W alone, c*nts!
What are peoples thoughts on the 2010 Carbon Boardman, I know the 2011 will be out soon but I’ll probs miss out.
Is there a better bike for a grand? I’ve been told Halfords can get most bikes in, wth the exception of Ribble, Planet X etc.
