By not filling it in you could end up havig your local council underfunded as they will get less grants from the Govt.
Good, less for them to waste on pointless nonsense.Edited by supersingle on Monday 15th November 20:09

Are they still planning the massively intrusive questions on people's private lives? Things which are no business of the government whatever way they try to spin it.
odd point of view. Why do you think that knowing how many citizens there are and how many households they are are of no interest to a government? The stuff they ask isn't that intrusive, its just a matter of who lives where in a given day once in every ten days. They don't want to know your bank account details or who you'd even vote for.

There were plans for them to ask for any 'overnight visitors' and their names and addresses. There were also plans to ask for people's sexuality. I can't see any good reason why the government needs to know that information. The stuff they ask isn't that intrusive, its just a matter of who lives where in a given day once in every ten days. For example, next time a gay rights campaign wants a law changed or something (to allow marriages) they can point to census data that says there are X gays in the UK or there has been a Y increase in gays since last census.
The Govt need quality data to make decisions, if they dont have good data to start with then they are bound to make bigger cockups than necessary.
I worked at the last census,it was great fun, we had some very witty responses, and also some lacking wit, such as the ones smeared in faeces:S
I shall be filling mine out, it will be the second census in the UK where the gov can actually plan on 100% figures for the past 100 years
The Jedi and TOG thing was fun as well
edited because I wasn't very clear aboot what I meant, even though it was clear in my head
