I think the law changed recently about being able to change suppliers, I'm not sure of the detail. Anyone here have a gas tank at home? If so, what are the range of prices?

I shop around for oil, but to be honest there's never much difference in the pricing, I suspect LPG suppliers operate a similar cartel.

As I understand it you can longer be tied in to an exclusivity contract for lpg supply for more than 2 years. I've just had a letter from Shell Gas confirming my 2 year contract is due to come to an end.

Problem is none of the other lpg suppliers covering my area detail their prices on their websites with the exception of one and that's out of date. It looks like I'll have to ring around each supplier to see which can offer the best deal (and take over the ownership of the tank), unless I've missed something.

I used the lpg search supplier link from the page below which lists the companies that will supply in my area, but haven't yet contacted any for price info:

FWIW I just had my tank filled with Shell Gas and it was 46p per litre.

Thanks for the info.... I haven't had any quotes yet.

It sounds much the same situation I face with oil - no advertised prices and a probably cartel running.
