I am in the process of decorating my bathroom and have a quick question about the bath. The bath arrived today and has no fixing instructions, except on fitting the legs. Do we need to create a timber frame for the bath to sit on and does it need fixing to the wall?

The bath is an acrylic bath and came with nothing other than the legs.

Thank you

I think the legs will screw into a chipboard base that will be built into the bottom of the bath.

Edit: Sorry, I read your question completely wrong. I think I briefly lost the ability to understand sentances.

You normally get two brackets to secure it to the wall as well. Once level, half fill with that water stuff and run a bead of silicone along the bath/ surrounding wall joint. Then tile down to this a silicone again to finish.

When I fit a bath, I place batten on the walls for the egdes of the bath to sit on, especially important with acrylic baths as they will flex and break the seal.

They usually come with two L-Shaped brackets to secure it to the wall.

Remember to fill the bath with water when sealing it and use the correct sized screws when attaching the legs! A lesson one of the apprentices learnt last week!
