Discussion
hi guys.
After picking up my mazda6 mps about 4 weeks ago i love the car its such a nice car and i like the concpet of the sleeper look :-)
only issue i have is i have always been part of owner clubs and forums but there seam hardly anything for the mps lot!
purempg.org hasn't been posted on since feb and the replacement forum hasn't been used.
is there something i am missing as its such a rare and obb ball car i need advice on tuning and what works well with the cars and little tips on how to use it.
things like turning off the traction control and stability as i can't seam to do it.
im interested in all mps owners be it mazda3 or mazda6!
thanks guys

hi pitbull,
I think the main reason for a lack of enthusiasm, in terms of forums etc, is these cars are only now starting to come into peoples radar as a viable alternative for other Jap machinery.
I imagine over the next year or so as they come on to the second hand market at very reasonable prices interest will increase a lot.
My car, and I suspect a lot of others, are company hacks with a bit of chilli powder added so tuning etc has never been a consideration.
Try your car on a track day, you'll be pleased how well it performs evan in standard trim.

I have a CX7 same MPS engine. There is a big forum scene but its mainly in the States. My UK spec car has so many differences to the US spec ones so asking questions becomes almost pointless. Their cars there are all autos for example.
However there are a lot of tuning options for the engine. There is a company in County Durham that specialises in MPS motors. I'm toying woth the idea of a bit of power gain myself when the car comes out of warranty.
I am away for the next few days but if you PM me next week I will pass you their www address etc.

brilliant. i am a member of that site to but i could never find info on it but i think i was just not navigating it properly.
my car is still under mazda warrenty too so i doubt il touch it for a year or so but would be good to work out the tricks and nice touches.
im happy with the car to be fair , not as quick as my skylies where but still pretty quick and it handles well but you have to be brave as it feels unsteady and you have to push through that which im sure you car dial out with alignment and different tyres.
i would love to take it to about 400-450 bhp and some decent brakes/ suspension in a couple of years though.
i keep thinking of getting a track toy as well as the mps but not sure its worth it as its got good basiss just a bit over weight.
is there any sort of meets/ runs that the mps guys go on?
