Post warranty mods
Discussion
I am now 6 months into owning brand new Chimeara 500 - still the right decision in spite of unfixed (to date) leaking and some other odds and sods - all around build quality.
After the warranty has expired I am thinking about going to an independant for service etc and am wondering about useful 'standard mods/fixes' that are worth doing and don't carry a dealer price tag.
Eg: heat shield starter motor, rolling road/check out ECU, fiddle about with timing, twin speed fans etc etc
Any ideas on things worth doing to improve longevity/reliability/performance that don't involve a Steve Heath rebuild and cost $squillions

Fan overide switch, waxoyl the chassis, battery conditioner. They'll all save you money in the long run.
Spend money using it on a track before you think of spending on other mods. You'll get to know & enjoy your car far more (but then you'll want better suspension/brakes etc etc spend spend).

Yep totally agree. Add to that a Leven remote battery connector so that you don't have to grovel in the footwell and you are there. Things like the starter motor cover can be done during a service. Then really learn how to drive the car and it will make you safer and you will start to identify if anything you want to change and you can then work out what to do about it. Then you start spending quillions

If you are into cosmetic stuff then the world is your oyster so to speak... Just don't put any Lax Bowels stickers on it please.
