Insurance have sent a cheque for £180 after me losing my camera off my jet ski.

Sorry, should have said, it was a TZ10 that somehow managed to hit the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico whilst trying to take some pics of dolphins in the first place.

Insurance company have given me "75%" of it's value but in the form of a cheque so thought going second hand would get me something closer to what I lost. However, TZ8 seems to be on special offer at Jessops for £179 so does scream 'buy me'!


ETA Again: If someone has something they want rid of that is half decent that they want rid of then give me a shout.

Yet another post from me, sorry.

I think I will need to go for the TZ10 as I want the GPS built in.

Any other cameras that will do similar?

why on earth do you want GPS in a camera?!?!?!

I like the geotagging. I travel about a lot, always found it quite cool that when I put the pictures into iPhoto that they were tagged with exactly where they were taken. An example being heading out on the boat to look at dolphins. Only a small thing in a camera but I find it quite useful.

Just found a TZ10 on eBay with 16GB memory card and a case, excellent condition but not brand new.

Located just down the road from my office. Off I trot with my cash.

Job done.

£180 on the nose.

I'll say.

Turned up this evening. He was just updating the firmware.

Gave me the receipt from the local camera shop for well over what I paid for it.

£180. I am very happy with that.

Effectively I dropped my TZ10 into the ocean, and in return got double the memory and a nice case. Although I'm out of pocket for the excess, my stupidity has not totally bitten me on the arse!
