Constant fax calls to our landline - driving me mad! Help!

Guys / Girls,

I've had a fax machine ringing the company landline number approximately every thirty seconds this morning since about 8am.

I've tried googling the number, 0115 979 4507, but can't find anything.

I've also faxed them and told them its a landline and to stop faxing it - no response.

Any ideas? Not only is it blocking the landline, its driving me absolutely mental!

try ringing numbers 1 digit either side (most companies have fax as well as other numbers in a block)

Ring OFCOM and ask them to get it stopped. This falls under the persistant misuse of electronic communications act

plug a fax in to receive the doc so that it stop re-sending, report number to http://www.ofcom.org.uk/

Call your telephone provider and ask them to block the number.

its probably an accidental mis-dial rather than deliberate fax-spam though

If your in an office - forward the call to the fax machine so the fax prints out.
If your in your house - just pick up the phone and hang up again it'll stop after 5 attempts.

I have the odd "talent" of being able to answer a fax machine by making fax machine noises. I once did this to a friend's fax when they faxed my land line by mistake. It confused it so much they had to power it off and on again to get it to work again.

I could also get a 56K modem to handshake. Oh happy days...
