The Telegraph said:
Toy pig removed from farm set to avoid offending Muslim and Jewish parents
A toy pig was withdrawn from a children's farm set by its makers to avoid the risk of causing offence to Muslim and Jewish parents, it has been reported.
The pig was missing from the Early Learning Centre's HappyLand Goosefeather Farm, which costs about £25, when a mother bought it as a present for her daughter's first birthday, the Sun newspaper reported.

The set did contain a model of a cow, sheep, chicken, horse and dog but no pig, the newspaper said, despite there being a sty and a button which generated an "oink".

The mother, named only as Caroline, called the firm to complain and was told in an email that the pig had been removed in case it upset Muslim or Jewish parents.

Both the religions band the eating of pork because they consider the pig an unclean animal.

The Sun reported that the email said: "Previously the pig was part of the Goosefeather Farm. However due to customer feedback and religious reasons this is no longer part of the farm."

The issue came to light on internet forum Netmums, on which Caroline posted: "This is political correctness gone loopy.

"This is as bad as no more 'baa baa black sheep' or other such things. Stuff like this is just insipid, it worms its way into every aspect of our lives and we just let it happen.

"Surely if someone has an issue with a toy they don't agree with, then don't buy it."

One mother called Chouli responded: "Does it have a disclaimer on it, though? 'Pig sold seperately'? Perhaps they keep a stash of them in the back somewhere in brown paper bags?"

Another mother named Safiyyah said: "I'm Muslim and it doesn't bother me. It's just another animal.

"What are the store going to do next? Ban the Peppa Pig cartoon? Stop selling books with pigs in? This is a multi-cultural country."

ELC said: "The decision to remove the pig was taken in reaction to customer feedback in some parts of the world."

However, after The Sun contacted the firm, it said: "We have taken the decision to reinstate the pig and to no longer sell the set in international markets where it might create an issue.

"Any customers who have bought Goosefeather Farm in the last few months will be able to order a pig free of charge via our website."
It's PC gone mad. The swines.

By that logic they should remove the cow because it could offend Hindu's.

One wonders if it's intended if all the animals be slaughtered in clear breach of EU Animal Welfare legislation, AKA Halal?

As a vegetarian I must insist the whole playset is removed from sale.
Also I'm Amish and find it quite offensive to see so many 'digital' items on sale nowadays. How will my 5 children, Ezekiel, Ishmael, Eli, Miriam and little Shaznaye have a fair chance at life with such blatant propaganda surrounding us.

My letter to the Early Learning Centre:

Dear Toyshop,

As a taxpayer working in the private sector, it offends my faith (free-market capitalist) to see subsidised, parasitic lifestyle businesses portrayed as normal.

Please remove all farm toys from your stores.

Love,

You should read the Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein. It might change your views on free market capitalism. Do some research on Chile under Pinochet, Russia after the Soviet Collapse and Iraq during the reconstruction.

FFS, what will be next. Tesco removing bacon from the shelves, pet shops no longer selling pigs ears for dogs.

I find all religions offensive, can we ban them please.

Why do those from the Jewish and Muslim faith hate pigs so much? Okay it may not be the most glamorous animal out there but this illogical hatred of anything which goes 'oink oink' is bizarre.
