Just had HD installed, went on the internet and found my connection was totally unusable it was so slow. Unplugged the telephone line from the box and it immediately went back to normal.

Should it do that? Seems odd that the HD has an impact on my broadband.

It's because you don't have a DSL filter on the telephone line between the socket and the box.

Didn't have one on the Sky + box and it worked fine.

Does the HD box 'work' differently?

I was asking because I don't know and was curious as to why it should need a filter and the Sky+ didn't.

Anyway. I have put a filter on and it's working fine, so thanks for the advice.
