I bought a Rolex GMT 4 years ago and thought that I had stored the box and papers safely. After a couple of house moves it seems that they are now lost - and I've searched everywhere. I blame it on small people looking for boxes etc to store Gormitti's and gogo's. I've obviously still got the watch but have I just lost a substantial amount of value?. Is there a way of getting papers reissued? Thanks.

Hi Andrew,

Shame you've lost the box & papers. It doesn't make it a bad watch, but it makes the watch a more difficult proposition to re-sell. As the presence of the B&P gives a lay purchaser confidence that what they're being shown is correct. In terms of price, it'll shorten an offer from trade by 25% or more.
Unfortunately there is no possibility of getting a replacement set of papers from Rolex. A good alternative, which may play into your hands is a Rolex UK service. Your watch is 4 years old and will soon require it's service. Return the watch to Rolex UK and have them service the watch. Upon its' return the watch will be in pristine condition and will be accompanied by Rolex service paperwork which (speaking as a trader) is an excellent alternative to the missing COSC cert. This will cost you towards £300 and take about 10 weeks or so, this would be my choice if I were you...

Hope this helps,

Dom is spot on again (as usual) Get it into Rolex Bexley, not only will it come out like new it will also have official Rolex Paperwork for cross reference.

If I was in your position thats exactly what I would do.
Buy spending the £300 you are in fact saving yourself a lot of money and increasing the sales valuation
