Probably in Albania!

My parents have just completed a 15,000 mile round the Mediterranian classic rally. Part of the route went across Albania from which they reported it was a God-forsaken place in many areas having really suffered under communism and more recent conflicts.

Anyway, the old man reported that they had been astounded by the number of BMWs they saw out there running around on British plates! Are there many British expats living out there?!

I imagine they are all albanians who work here and have gone back to their homeland showing off how good they have it here...

Same in Romania. Easy to spot the stolen ones as they have no tax discs.
Going on the prices of a couple I saw for sale, they appeared to be worth about 50% of a presumably legit LHD drive car.
