Locks

Hi,
The drivers side lock on my '94 chim has seized up. TMS has quoted me billions (£300) to get a new lock and fit it. Also it would involve having a separate key for this lock.
Who could I get in contact with (an autoelectrician??) in the east midlands area to get a more reasonable quote. £300 wouldn't seem so bad if all the locks were to be changed

i had mine removed from my 93 chim and replaced with push button locking from the keyfob. cost me about £100

Do you mean completely seized or just the dead lock part? May be you could strip and free it with WD40?

Alternatively go the remote C/L route

Where did you get the push button locking system installed? Or who did you get it from

Does anyone know what make & model of car the locks were borrowed from? A trip to your local scrap dealer is then required and obtain two or three similar lock barrels. With the assorted parts you can then (hopefully) repairs yours.

Alternatively, try Yellow Pages for Locksmiths. Many of them operate mobile workshops and will come to your home and can fix automotive locks.

They are Vauxhall Calibra boot locks (I think)
