Looked like an Omega Seamaster to me ?

Which although a nice quality watch seems quite an ordinary for the next King of England.

Omega SeaMaster Professional Mid size, Quartz.[only three lines of text on watch face denoting Quartz movement.]

A gift from his Mum, in '97 I believe.
That makes that watch about as valuable and exclusive as it can get to him. No need for anything more.

???? Over £1k on a watch makes it VERY expensive compared to most and quite a luxury item. He probably wears M&S pants so no doubt there's a pant fetish forum somewhere puzzled why the future king isnt wearing a diamond studded, crock leather thong.

That's what I thought. Mid-sized quartz. Yet if he sold it on ebay he'd get a fortune for it.

"We have for sale an Omega Seamaster Professional, mid-sized, quartz, given to me by HRH Queen Elizabeth II. Has served in Afghanistan etc. ( biggrin ) Oh, and currently owned by me. Reserve starts at £5000."

I have an SMP JB quartz, large size, bought in 1997 too, because I thought at that time it would be a good daily wearer. It has proved to be so, never missed a beat. Looks like HRH may agree with me, Afghanistan and all!

EFA and worth a whole bundle more with the Lady Di connection, especially to a Daily Express reader. hehe

Same here. Bought in 1998, mine has got the silver bezel and I don't seem to see many of them about. An AD tried to imply it was fake the last time I took it in for a battery change rolleyes

I've worn it pretty much every day since purchase. It's had 2 batteries and a new clasp on the bracelet because it kept popping open. It's a bit rough round the edges and the lume has pretty much gone but in that time it's never missed a beat and keeps terrific time. In fact I can't remember the last time I adjusted it. Probably only do it when the clocks change!

Doh, for some reason I read it as his gran. You're right. It's worth much more on ebay!

Sentimental value vs Financial Value

If the above quote is true about it being from his mum, he'd probably still wear it if it was a plastic battery powered mickey mouse faced watch. I know I would! Fair play to the lad. It's still a nice watch in its own right biggrin
