Didn't the Pur Sang (sp?) Veryon have the same inter-locking pattern?

Either way, great vid, I enjoyed that.

Even the very lowest spec Zonda seems to be a great car and far beyond the likes of anything I have yet experienced.

This just looks like they have turned it up to 11.

You mean the weave? Thats what carbon fibre is, if it's not weaved like that it's useless.

Great Video the sound of that thing is amazing
Also more I see of clarkson on a track the more I think he is a far better driver than he makes out and what a lot of people believe.

During the video I wasn't so sure if clarkson was doing all the driving, I'd imagine some of the out of car shots may not possibly be him.

I don't know though..

Given that Clarkson must have driven every sports car, supercar and hypercar you could think of over the last 25 years, as well as holding an MSA National A, I'd be surprised if he wasn't at least a bit handy.

Yes, I understand that!

I meant the asymmetric weave, or infact I guess, the symmetrical pattern in the weave that follows the centre line of the vehicle.

He gushed as if it was new and amazing, my comment was this pattern in the carbon fibre has been seen before.

It's not the weave in itself. It's way that that the pattern matches together over two separate panels. I've seen it myself at the factory and it really is very impressive.

I have pictures of a garage in Beijing with 3 Zondas. One is maroon, one white and the last is an R. Once I get back from Thailand I will post the pictures.

The attention to detail in the CF weave is amazing. Compare it to a naked CF car from a couple of years ago and you will see how unpainted CF can comand such a high premium.

Great sounding engine but fear in the UK the sound levels would mean you couldn't even use it for most track days.

When they did the close up of the bonnet on the video it really did look like one panel. The same as on a Pur Sang Veyron, which is definitely 1 panel.

Anyway, back to my original post, slightly altered...

That type of pattern in Carbon Fibre is not new, it has been done before, probably on other Zondas and or the Pur Sang Veyron. Why was Clarkson gushing about it, most people who have an interest in cars have seen it before.

Anyway who cares. It was a great video and I enjoyed it.

Where did all this talk of weave come from? It's like frickin' Desmonds in here! wink

Wasn't the Stig quoted as saying that Clarkson wasn't that great a driver and that the Hamster (can't remember his name!) was far better?

May just be paper talk though.

Can you buy this thing and drive it when you want or is it the same as the FXX where you drive it when Ferrari let you? This car ticks all the boxes(except the price one) smile
