I think Jacobs (right opposite Jessops in New Oxford St) had lots of bags the last time I was there (which is probably 2 years ago!)
Camera World (off Oxford St) also carried a good range of bags.

2nd vote for Jacobs. They also price matched the cheapest price I could find for my 5D MKII, something others wouldn't.Camera World (off Oxford St) also carried a good range of bags.

Did they price match Internet prices or high street?The cheapest high street price I could find was Park Cameras in Burgess Hill. I did find cheaper on the internet from a company with a glossy web site and lots of promises, unfortunately I can't name and shame, but rather stupidly I did not do sufficient research before purchasing from them. Needless to say they did not keep their promise and deliver my camera, but fortunately I managed to get my money back without issue. Kata have this year released a bunch of lightweight backpacks that have "frames", ventilation back panels etc and generally look like they should do the job. At a price.

As we tend to drive around Europe when we go away I have a large Lowepro bag for all the gear and a smaller Kata (?) bag to carry the day stuff in, which does fit a body + lens and my 70-200 2.8
In all honesty, whilst I take a ton of lenses, a couple of cameras and the other rubbish associated with the hobby, I tend to manage most days with a single camera and single lens (5D Mk2 and 24-70L currently). I find changing lenses a real pain if you're walking around a city etc.
I suspect we all tend to take far too much in expectation of needing that long or wide angle lens and could simply take a compact if truth be known

I do find myself late in the secodn week of a holiday inventing reasons to use a lens that has remaiined unused in my bag for the last ten days. Why I needed to take my 100-400 L to the Maldives is a mystery. Nothing on the island is much more than 100m away, so it would be for photos of the odd passing boat or perhaps for bats, but you'd be lucky to get one of those without using a tripod and taking a lot of shots.

I must admit I agree with that! If I'm walking around the city or even country side, I can do what I want with 24-105 (or you just do what you can with 24-105!!), so I just put the gear in my Lowepro Toploader, which holds enough and is extremely easy to carry. I suspect we all tend to take far too much in expectation of needing that long or wide angle lens and could simply take a compact if truth be known
Quick update...couldn't find the one I was most keen on (Kata Bumblebee 222) available to try in the end.
After a good bit of searching around on the net, I found it being offered for about 100 quid less than the vast majority of places at tvcases.co.uk. I also noticed that Kata are currently doing cash back at the moment, bringing the prices very, very close to those for the same product in the US. So I decided to take a risk (on the basis that eBay would sort me out if it was a load of cack).
Needn't have worried. The bag is exactly what I was after (being picky, a better choice of colour would have been good). The only slight doubt I have is whether I'll get it on as carry on luggage, but it's there or thereabouts so am sure it'll be fine.
It's a very lightweight bag, but very well built. Has a frame on the back and vent panels. Easily enough space for a decent body and up to 4 or 5 lenses (including a big zoom) plus accessories. And space for day gear. Feels comfy when being carried. It'll get a proper test in January.
