Would you leave the UK if you could?
Discussion
Pondering lifes options as I stare out of the window I was wondering whether its time to get out of the UK.
So imagine you had the following:
So imagine you had the following:
- The Visa/Passport to travel and work without restriction in Canada/USA/Australia/NZ (delete as applicable)
- The funds to move; and
- A good chance of finding work overseas
I don't know if I'd want to move permanently, but I do like the idea of being a "swallow" - one of those people who migrate in the winter. An added bonus is that you get to contrast the two (or more) countries that you live in - this would remind you of what you love and hate about those countries. Nowhere is perfect.

I'd be gone in a flash.
My O/H has mentioned it a few times, but I think we're far too close to our families for it to ever happen.
If family weren't an issue I'd be out of this sthole on the next plane.
I could understand that reasoning if it were 30 years ago, or if you were moving to NZ. But if it's nearer to home, such as France, Germany, Holland, Spain etc. Then that's no longer a problem in these days of Easyjet etc.My O/H has mentioned it a few times, but I think we're far too close to our families for it to ever happen.

on a more realistic note.
Thinking of a move to the Netherlands within the next year or two, really like it over there and fancy a change.
NL is my choice within the EU, especially if I can find work that qualifies under the 30% ruling. I am due to start an MSc course at Delft next year but having doubts now about whether I should return to uni at 30.Thinking of a move to the Netherlands within the next year or two, really like it over there and fancy a change.
Honestly, I'd go anywhere right now for the right career prospect. I even applied for a job in Iraq this summer!

My other brother lives about an hour and a half away, and I'm lucky to see him 4 times a year. I see my parents that many times a week.
