Hello, I'm new here and would like some honest recommendations for replacing my car.

I currently drive a 2002 Mazda 323 2.0 Sport and I like its power, delivery and handling, but its getting old, rusty, and has done 130 miles.

I have around £7k to spend and want another small family car but I don’t want a derv, as I had 2 company diesels (Focus from '03 to '07 and Astra from '07 to '09) and didn't like either.

I was wanting something a little faster but I don't want to have to rev the t1ts of it to get it going (like I have read about the Civic Type R).

I have considered the Mazda 3 Sport but would like some other options.

Mazda 6 MPS

I wouldn't take any heed of this business about revving the nuts off a CTR - it's not heavy, it's a 2.0, it's not a chore to drive and to be honest, the gearbox is such a joy to use that you will welcome it. Try it, I'd have another.

I read that its last service was 7k ago.

re: "already old" - but your budget needs to be bigger if you want a newer car - either that or something more st.

Not bothered about age, but I don't like the high mileres, as I do about 25k a year, so want something in the high to mid 30mpg bracket, when on a decent run.

I will take a Civic for a blast to see if I like its power delivery.

Anyone tried the following:
Civic Types S
Mazda 3 MPS
Mazda 3 Sport
Focus ST 2 or 3
Octavia VRS
Do you get a Corrola sport model?
Sports golf?

Or anyother suggetions?
