Ah, but the thing is, mahoosive spiders like that don't freak me out anywhere near as much as their much smaller cousins that can be found scurrying under sofas round these parts.

I'm not saying I'd be comfortable a huggin' and a kissin' that monster, but it's (comparatively) freakish size makes it more of a "cartoon" spider, if you know what I mean.

I know it doesn't make any logical sense that the big buggers bother me much less than the little fellas.

I guess big-spiders have less places to hide whereas a small one could be planning an ambush from under your pen.
