Just a few questions somebody on here might be able to answer

I have seen a few G50 cup/GT4 cars at very reasonable money recently which got me thinking

How good are these cars to drive and for endurance racing like 3 hour + races and the likes of britcar and Spa 24 hours

Do they need much upgrades for 24 hour races to make them reliable and how expensive are they to run overall

What is the life on main components like engine gearbox diff etc and are parts and rebuilds expensive

They seem to be really good value for money compared to cars of simular pace and spec

I've been thinking the exact same thing.. I've had a good look round a few of them, and you can download the build manual from ginetta.

I've no direct experience but they look well put together and seem to work.

they did have a problem early on in the longer races with the diff's overheating and catching fire..

but they have completed a number of 24hr races now with reaonable success..

Upgrades from the cup car you'd probably need are

1) bigger tank
2) dry breaks if not already fitted
3) air jacks if not fitted
4) box and diff coolers if not fitted
5) head lights
6) I believe there is different downforce body work available
7) radios
8) there is a centre lock hub/wheel option for quicker tyre changes

engine should be up to it, and i think they ran the usual quaife box.

Plenty of these things about so im surprised there are not more in Britcar..

You could do worse than try to speak to "Speedworks" about the cars as they ran one in the G50 cup & won British GT4 in one as well.
