Has anyone ever fitted 245's to the front of their E34?

I have a new set of rather crusty (but very cheap) 18" alloys that I got from from PH ad's. (they will look great after the refurb)

After trawling eBay got some part worn michelins to get me started 235/45R18 front, 255/40R18 rear.
(rolling radius is slightly larger than standard but within tollerance)

But when they wear out I was looking to fit new tyres, I have subsequently found buying tyres for a staggered set of alloys is actually a bit of a pain! But I've found a matching set of Falkens that fall into my price range.

And there's the snag they are 245/40R18 and 255/40R18, will that extra 10mm upfront make a significant difference and cause rubbing?

Any advice greatly welcome.

I used to run 235/40 ZR 18 up front and 265/35 ZR 18 out back on my 535i Sport and I seem to recall they were pretty close to the strut up front on the inside of the tyre but it's a long time ago now and there might have been room for an extra 10mm. Not much help I'm afraid but I'd be more concerned about rubbing on the inside than the arch.

I run this side on my E39 which I beleive takes generally the same size tyres as an E34?

I feel 17s suit the ride better on E34; 18 is just a step too far IMHO.

I know it's not a 'normal' e34, but the later M5s ran 245/40r18 all round - with the earlier ones having the 235/45r17 all round or 255/40r17 staggered rear option.

I did have this dilemma when choosing which wheels to go for, really wanted style 32's. It was either get 17"'s from an E39 and have hubcentric rings plus spacers or 18"'s that fit straight on.
