Morning All,

I need to release some funds rather quickly meaning my GTV has to go quicker than I'd planned.

Had it on PH for a month now without so much as a sniff of interest since one guy who couldn't raise the funds

Bought it less than 6 months ago for £4800, so thought the price was fair considering I've barely used the thing.

Any ideas on where I'm going wrong? (Other than the obvious, drop the price...)

It isn't getting used at all other than checking it / starting it every week.

Considering Autotrader or Ebay - any thoughts?

That would have been my first thought - a quick glance at the PH classifieds shows that the first GTV V6 is about the same age and the same mileage as yours, and is on for £3200. Further down the list there's another, a 2001 car with about the same mileage as yours up for £2995 from a dealer.

If I saw the two cars side-by-side in real life then it might be different, but purely from looking through the classifieds I'd probably struggle to see why your 1999 car is worth 40% more than a broadly similar 2001 model.

Agreed - I think I paid over the odds to be honest, but the private plate does have a value (not with me, but to some!)

Another price drop is on the cards me thinks!

Pricey way to do a couple of thousand miles...hey ho.

Just had a browse through prices on Autotrader and they're all over the place! From about £2.5k to over £5k for similar ages...

Perhaps I should just keep hold of it and store....? Certainly don't want to blow it out for nothing...

Decisions, decisions.

(apologies for internal dialogue!)

yes If you can.

In a few years the market for these will likely settle a bit and there'll be a pool of 'cheap' cars and a pool of 'good' cars with a price seperation between them. At the moment, there's too much crossover between the two.

Good advice - think I'll knock a bit off to bring it in line with others on PH and if no takers then garage time.
