Restricted mileage insurance

If the insurers dont ask you the mileage in the first place then how do they know?
Perhaps from the MOT?

Also if the insurers dont insure you for track days then you could just claim that all the extra mileage was done on tracks/private ground. Is this correct?

I asked a company I was previously insured with and they said something along the lines of "if we don't ask the starting milage, how would we find out?"

Seemed a bit odd, seeing as changing the annual total made a huge difference to the premium

Don't bet on it...

Push came to shove, big accident claim, would they tell you to get lost. Or would they 'trust you'

Of course I wont actually be doing any of this as its simply not worth losing lots of money when I can pay a small amount to increase the mileage if necessary.

And as has been said, if it came to claim time, the insurance company would never be willing to miss any tiny details!

Got limited milage on my Policy

insurance Co sent me a form to state the milage a few weeks after i took the Policy out - absent mindedly I put down the current Mileage

I got the first two weeks worth of miles extra - all those long trips for petrol or a pint of milk!!!!!!!!

I know those now! Even when Im driving home from a long day out I still say "I had better take a detour to the shop incase we need milk etc" just to get in more driving.
Normally Id say feck it, I'll drink black coffee instead!

Footman James asked for a starting mileage, they did get the mileage after the 100mile trip home from when I collected the car though

I have limited mileage on my policy and have done with all my cars. They sometimes ask for it, sometimes they dont.
