Does anybody know where you can get large (5 inch diameter I think) globe bulbs in the UK, I believe the code for them might be G40.

I saw what I think are the same bulbs in the Riverfront bar at the BFI the other day and quite liked the way they looked; the only photo I could find was this one;

The lights are those over the bar.

They seem to be readily available in the USA but not here.

Spooky... the light bulbs in my kitchen are these ones and one of them blew about an hour ago.

I haven't got another spare, but the box for the replacement bulb was from Homebase. Hopefully can find them somewhere!

Maybe I should do some looking around, those in the bar were clear glass, rather than pearlescent and the filament was very visible.

Don't suppose you could tell me what the code/name of the bulb on the box was?

Cheers

G40 will be the cap (the mounting piece on the back) rather than the type of bulb. G40s could have multiple shapes but the same back cap.

Try Maxim Ltd, or Frankie Vaughan's old company Lampways Ltd.
