self fixing idle problem???

Hey all,
My car is booked into Plans Motorsport tomorrow, to sort out my idle problem I've had ( car will start from cold and idle fine for a minute, then die, & also almost stalls when in slow traffic). I guess this is a vacuum problem. Anyway, took the car out today for some fuel and it idles fine!
Drove for an hour and all is fine!!
Do I pay an hours labour for Plans to investigate or leave well alone?

I don't want to be negative as Plans are very good but I don't belive they have all the equipment to monitor everything that the car is doing.

Cheers for the comment bondy, what would u do?, the car is going for the suspension alignment/optimization, replacements dashboard bulbs, and checking the altenator charge under full load ( lights dip when fans come on), and bleeding the clutch fluid, so I want to make sure everything is right for my last trackday on 3rd Dec.
I don't want to waste money, but I don't want to skimp on my car either, and Plans are the only people I know.

I had exactly the same with my car, an 03 plate GTO3. I spent over £1k at a so called ‘specialist’ in Chesterfield trying to sort the problem, It would tick over fine when cold but once it was warm it would cut out without warning, real pain when in traffic.
The first time it went in I ended up paying for a new ECU it ran fine for a couple of weeks and then the same thing began to reoccur.
It went back into the garage, they replaced injectors, new plugs, new lambda sensors, checked all the vacuum pipes for leaks. Car ran fine for about a week. I travelled down to North Weald to do the car limits airfield day and about 20 minutes into the journey it started playing up again.

The only way I solved the problem was by trading the car in!

I realise this doesnt answer your original question, but if it was me I would definitely ask them to have a look at it, if like mine it will happen again and probably when at a track day.

I had a similar problem for a while but also struggled on cold start. I replaced the air sensor and it fixed it and never had a problem. Also got the sensor free as was last one in shop and didn't gave a box. Hope ur prob is as simple

Cheers for the comments, the car is now at Plans, ironically its still fine!, have asked them to check for leaks but that's it.
I'll let you guys know what they find.

Hi,
Im facing the same kind of problem. My car when cold tends to shut off sometimes, then when the car is warm, i see an idling problem right when i am about to stop either at traffic lights or when in traffic, i always have my AC on since i live in a very hot country. The problem seems to happen more when AC is turned on.
I was told that i need to remap my ECU (my ecu has been tuned by a company, forgot the name, it was done by previous owner).
What do you guys think? How should i proceed regarding this issue?

Hi,
Plans adjusted the idle screws and all is now fine, even with a/c on, lights on etc.
Not mechanically minded, so hopefully someone on here will point u in the right direction.
