The dash has gone in our 51 reg 1.6 LX Focus. I have searched the internet and know that this was a known problem.

My O/H took the car into our local stealer this am and he quoted her £359 part only and was a little condescending to say the least. When I spoke to him to book the car in he said he needed to pop the dash out for the specific part number as it could be any 1 of 5 in the car. He didn't seem interested in offering any fixed price as per the stuff I came across on the internet so

1) Is he shooting a line and more importantly

2) Does anyone know if Ford are still offering a fixed price to replace the dash on affected cars.

Any help much appreciated especially from anyone who currently works at a Ford dealer

TIA

Yes, he is spinning you a line...

Assuming you mean the instrument cluster then they cost around £75 inc AVT. 1 hour, not even, to replace and bobs your uncle. Yes, there are a few different types of cluster but using your reg. in Ecat and describing your cluster to me then I could get you a part number.

Digging around in the watchdog website you should be able to find the article on Ford and their insanely priced clusters...print it off and give it to the guy you spoke to.

email me at my work address in the morning and I'll get it for you...

Is it the WHOLE cluster that has failed or only the speedo?

It was just the speedo and fuel gauge
