Ok,I generally use Shell Optimax in my Chimaera 500 as it's supposed to be good stuff with higher (98.6RON) octane and , to me , the car seems to run better.

Question: If I then add Octane Booster (Millers etc) which is claimed to add increase RON (whatever RON actually is) by 1 or 2.
Will I actuallly get fuel which is 100 RON or more ?
furthermore will this give me any performance/running benefits ?
Or will it damage my engine as well as my wallet?
Feel free to flame me if the above questions are deemed to be utter bollocks.

I wouldn't bother putting booster in a tank of Optimax - but it might not be bad to put in a full tank of normal unleaded - I agree my 500 is much better on Optimax. Booster does raise the octane - but for the for 98 should be plenty - a waste of dosh in a tank of optimax - although I do use it in my TR4
Racer but that has 11.25:1 comp ratio so get Optimax and booster. Cheers Jon
