Stitches coming out.

I've got some stitches coming out of my shoulder tomorrow and im not looking forward to it.
I broke my shoulder 2 weeks ago and have had to have it pinned so it's not a small cut.

Is there anything I can do to help it or is it just going to hurt like a motherfker?

Depends on the surgeon really. If he used disolvable ones, then they shouldnt be a problem, if he used nylon thread, then it could be an issue. Also, depends if you have quick healing skin or not, because if the skin has grown over the stitches, is going to hurt, trust me on this. If they arent nylon, and your skin takes time to heal, then i think you will be okay

Do they itch?!

They always look like they are going to itch something chronic. Not having had any myself i wouldnt know.

They itch like a bd every now and again, also sneezing for the first week hurt so much my eyes watered

Stitches shouldn't be too bad - at least not as bad as when they go in!

I found it wasnt so much the stitches themselves that itched, but the area immediately around them, and to this day i still get occasional itches, but then my operation was a wee bit defferent to silent1's. Yeah sneezing is a new experience when you have stitches, or better still, try having stitches holding your belly together, and needing to cough badly. You cant, you have to do a frail little old man cough, or it really hurts

4 inch, 4 inch, wuss! I had my adrenal glands removed, and i have a.....for want of a better word, half shark bite mark across my stomach, about 3 inches above my navel. It took 50 stitches to close that fker up, and the silly bd used a continuous nylon thread. He ignored my dads advice that i have quick healing skin, so when they came to take the stitches out, which they had to do them individually, the skin had grown back over the top. Half of leicester royal infirmary heard me that day.

Can't see this being any worse ? You wouldn't be fibbing about the shoulder and you've had some 'work' done ?

Yeah, shouldnt really be a problem as far as i can see, unless, like me he is a big girls blouse when it comes to hospitals,needles,doctors etc

So I guess it won't hurt as much!

Didn't find this to be so. Staples coming out felt no worse than an injection going in
