Id want the usual discount plus a little more for having 1 owner.
Id be looking to pay £35k - 37k prob
TBH, I don't see that happening. Assuming it's simply pre-reg, rather than having 1,000+ miles on the clock, if the OP gets more than £500 off he'd be doing well.Id be looking to pay £35k - 37k prob
Thats why i often cant see the value in going for a pre-reg. You can get 8-10% off a new car anyway, often a pre-reg car has options you dont want (or hasnt options you do want), you cant benefit from the preferential finance rates on new cars (and cash injections from BMW), and its likely to have had a load of people driving it.

i agree £500 off for the 1 owner but surly you would haggle on any car to start with ?
Are we assuming the pre-reg car has a sticker price of £39K or that it had a £39K list price?daemon said:

Anyone have an idea of how much play the Salesman would have on that price?

You're not comparing like with like if comparing new to used, so its not a discount per se.

Good thing I asked as I was going to offer £30k with a spare set of wheels thrown in. Oh my, now that would've been embarrassing.....
What world do you live in? You wanted to pay 30k for a car that has a list of 44k and has already had 5k taken off for being a pre-reg. I suppose you would want 25k p/x for it after owning it for 3 years as well!Edited by G-P on Friday 19th November 20:10
